We went to Stara Baska next. Now that was a nice trip! We went all the way to the end of yhe road and were surprised to find a nice little secluded bay where you could swim. We got our swimming stuff and hopped on down to the beach. That was nice. The water was cristal clear and boy... Even more cold than the other places we had swom. The view from the water ...
Departed on another wet day. After our peninsular stay we moved onto Rijeka about 450km north only 30 min from the Italian boarder. Rijeka was un upmarket port city. Young people and tourist filled the squares and the port pier. Great fir evening walks. Our apartment was small ...

Volosko. A resort village but with a real fishing fleet. I gather
that Volosko has many renowned restaurants so we will try one
Back in Opatija we found a market hall
very close to our flat. We were delighted to buy some vegetables,
cheeses, a salami sausage etc, Best of all there was a separate fish
market that was obviously very well ...

Consulting our landlady about a
reasonable fish restaurant she said there was only one that she would recomment and that was in Volosko, about 20 minutes walk along the Lungomare. It was only a tiny place with about
