... what I had suspected, that I was carrying about 5kg of excess baggage after a month in Italy. Operation boot camp has kicked in with awesome running paths along the river and the crazy prices are well timed so we have just been having 1 meal a day.

Our luck with good weather continued early on with our arrival and first full day having very clear sky and 18 degree max's which by all accounts is unseasonably warm. We spent day ...

... you can see this beautiful metaphor come to life (see pictures). It’s so easy to get caught up in our struggles and the effort that it takes to get past them, we often miss the bigger picture. ... in the downstairs dining room with the most magnificent views overlooking Lake Geneva and the magnificent Swiss Alps. After a delicious breakfast we went and explored the grounds (which were just gorgeous) and then headed out for a day trip to Lausanne, a quick 30km away, passing back into Switzerland. Lausanne was OK, some lovely buildings, but I think I prefer the small villages to the big cities. Still, we passed some magnificent scenery on the way; Alps and the lake to our ...

Well we've had a wonderful time with Raymond and Bernadette here along the French and Suisse border. Raymond was so nice to pick us up from the airport and show us around for our first few days. We headed up into the Alps and it felt like a clip from right out of the Sound of Music movie. You were able to see the top of Mont Blanc and the view was magnificent. We also met some hikers along a trail who were very pleasant. The Alps were covered in farms and cute little ...
