Owakudani was cold & windy, so we had a quick look at the sulphur pits and went for the gondola to Togendai. We saw Lake Ashi and it was very windy & choppy. Mt Fuji
Its the tallest peak and what a beautiful peak it is covered in snow. Definitely worth a visit for a few days.

I got the bus from Shinjuku and it took two hours and its easy enough. I suggest getting off at the kawaguchiko station which is central to buses and trains. Theres not much point in getting off at the highlands unless you intend to make the 6 ...

Last Friday, as a birthday gift to myself, I took a day off to visit the Izu Peninsula for three days. Actually, this was the first time since my start here in January that I took one of my precious days of leave. It turned out to become a weekend of many more 'firsts'.
