... Since we were in the Royal Club, we got priority reservations and had no limit on the # of times we could eat in the specialty restaurants. If you are not in the Royal Club, there are limits (I believe 3 or 4 a la carte dinners per 7 night stay). We found the food and service in each of the restaurants to be very good to excellent. Our least favorite was the Oriental restaurant. The food was tasty but the air conditioning wasn’t working well ...
Riviera Maya, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico myvacationladyhmmm....well this week hasnt been so good. We havent dove at all and the weather looks like it will remail bad for a few more days. Life on base is good, but when we are not diving I am becoming bored. I have read just about all the books I can. I made a trip into town to use the internet and eat good food, becuase there really wanst anything else to do. We are still ...
Punta Gruesa, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico geologist4sail... were burned out. You'd think because we went to bed so early, we'd wake up early but it was 8am before we stirred at all, and only because we heard them setting up breakfast on the patio. We showered (not a lot of pressure, but the water's hot!) and had pineapple and quesadillas. It's included in our room rate, which is nice. We walked the beach to the square but came home because it was too hot (sorry everyone!). I was feeling ...
Hotel Cabana Rv Park, Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico, Yukon, Mexico jean-guy... two more photos in Lazaro Cardenas but that was the final end. The other ray of hope was that our next destination was Acapulco. If I was to lose my camera, just before Acapulco would probably have been the best place because of the big box stores where I could surely buy a replacement camera perhaps for less than back in Canada. That was the camera story, so what was the second event worthy of inclusion ...
Cuyutlán, Pacific Coast, Mexico lobo... and I happened to be correct, for a change!) I was not blogging back in 2003 and the concept of a "pueblo mágico" was totally lost on me. Nevertheless, Alamos was such a charming place that I have not forgotten it to this day. I wonder whether anyone has ever done a tour of Mexico by exclusively visiting all of the 32 pueblos mágicos and written about it. I am sure it would make for an interesting blog. By the way ...
Tlacotalpan, Veracruz, Mexico, Yukon, Mexico jean-guy... We were given three different samples of the beverage, each a different stage of the tequila process, after which Teach passed out in a corner. From here we were taken to Teotihuacan. Just take a look at the pictures, they are absolutely amazing, to think that there was a civilisation before the Mayans, before the Aztecs and Olmecs, that built this city. It rivaled any city in Europe during its time and was mysteriously abandoned in around 900AD. The really ...
