Venice is probably one of my (Tammy) favorite cities that we have visited in Europe. That might be surprising to some, because in all honesty it is a total tourist trap and there are a ton of people. But it's something about the canals and the calles, the way they twist and turn and you can always find one that is completely empty, despite the thousand of tourists. In all honesty it might just be my fascination with mazes that has me sold on this ...

... to serenade us as we travelled down a number of the canals and onto the Grand Canal. We even saw a bride and groom taking a gondola ride as well. After this we had the day free to wander around Venice taking in the sights and the shopping. We tried to find the Rialto Bridge without using the map and ended up having to back track and start again - with the map this time. A very popular spot in Venice. Somehow we got lost/distracted walking the alleys of Venice and buying lots....that we ended up at the wrong ferry terminal. The ferry went to Murano Island but took 45mins instead of 15mins. We were 15 minutes late back to catch our pre booked shuttle transfer to the cruise terminal. Thankfully the shuttle guy was still waiting and reluctantly agreed to still take us to the ...

A delicious breakfast, I realise they have a juicer next to a big bowl of chopped up fruit. Grand. I make a delicious grapefruit, carrot, celery and apple juice. Next a scrambled egg dish and cured meats and swiss cheese, grab a couple of pieces of fresh fruit, and tea . And always finish with an espresso. Cant help it now.

I sit in the lobby and blog, Steve wonders off on his trek, I am suppose to see him arrive back at 10:00 , ...

... of Venice, although today it is the least developed island. With little to see except the oldest church in Venice with its impressive mosaics, this was certainly the most tranquil of the islands we visited.

This brings us to our last day. When we woke this morning the rain seemed to have set in so we took our time getting ready. Today we jumped on the vapretto and took another wander around the Rialto markets, and ...
