Today we are well and truly out of the doldrums!!! The sea is quite rough (some people are even taking tablets) we haven't had seas like this since leaving San Fran. This afternoon we also cleared the high risk pirate area so all clear now. No doubt the extra personnel we picked up in the middle of the night will disembark in the same fashion by tomorrow morning. ... in the 19th century, had created a vege patch and collected water from the nearby reviere des Pamplemousse for irrigation but it has now been 'taken over' by everyone else and so now thee are medical and other useful plants growing there.

There are over 8000 specimens of plants and they are all worth the visit. As we were walking around we saw plenty of plants to last a lifetime. There were: spices, rare essences ie Ebony ...

... pulled up to Daddy Warbuck’s mansion. Fountain and all. This was no ordinary hotel. We walked in and immediately saw a wide-open view of the most gorgeous swimming pool overlooking a tropical beach pulled right out of a postcard. Our jaws dropped to the floor.
