Italian leather... a girl's best friend

... to a little Piazza I had heard about. We got on a bus, and headed that way, not really sure where to get off. At one point we realized how beautiful the view was, and as the bus was stopping at a random stop, Kelsa was like "we should get off here!" so we all quickly hopped off the bus. We were standing in front of a great view, and steps that lead us higher to a church and cemetery type place. We took our time enjoying the view and the peacefulness ...

Thanksgiving

... Cranberry Sauce, Stuffing, Potatoes, and Mixed Vegetables. For dessert pumpkin pie, ice cream, and apple cider! It was nice to spend the night with classmates and a few professors.

Friday night, we had yet another Thanksgiving with all of my friends. Everyone prepared their favorite dish and we spent the night telling stories of our families Thanksgivings.

Florence... art and leather

... all the other hotels/apartments that they've tried to turn into a "hostel" by simply throwing some bunk beds into existing hotel sized bedrooms.
Wandered around Florence which is a beautiful city and great to just wander around - apart from there being more US exchange students there than locals.
Found Mostodolce brewpub and tried their beers. First decent beer I've had since entering Italy.
The Pils was a bit average but the ...

Stayed at Affittacamere Patrizia Hostel in Rio Maggiore in Cinque Terre and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
When we got to the Hostel it was just an office and no one was there. Our keys were stuck to the door with instructions on how to get to our dorm room. There was another set of keys there too so we could have taken those too and ...

Cooking Class

Hi Everyone!

After an exhausting weekend in Brussels, I was in for yet another treat with cooking classes in Florence. Organized by my school, a group of us met with a chef for some lessons.

We were taught how to prepare typical Tuscan cuisine including Ribollita and Stuffed zucchini-flowers.

Everything was delicious & I look forward to trying these recipes at home!

Happy, safe and tired

... very tired and impressed by the size of the city and the number of people. we saw the Trevi fountain the Pantheon and the Piazza Novena on the first day. Yesterday we spent the morning at the Vatican and we managed to go to mass there. (We needed much more time here in my opinion). In the afternoon we saw the Colliseum and the Roman Forum. After some free time we had dinner in the ...

Hangin around in Florence

Greetings from Florence Italy! This morning we finished our tours of Rome with a guided tour of the Vatican city. We toured the Vatican museum that feature some of history's art masterpieces, the Sistene Chapel and St.Peter's Basillica. St.Peters Basillica was supposovly where St.Peter was burried and is the biggest cathedral in the world. It's dome is higher ...

The Bus Tour - day 2.

... could walk all around him, allowing you to check out his butt. (Bridget said that clearly, David had bee working out.) It was a good idea as soon, David (being of David and Goliath fame of course) came to embody Florence's strength against the other Italian rival areas. So yeah.... impressive stuff. I really got a sense of the history in Italy, seeing where Leonardo Da Vinci lived and where he worked (across the street - nice) and the sculptures and art that was ...

Firenze - The Last Goodbye

... today - just once more each... I went past the little Pizza slice place where the owner sneezes on the slices, which is probably responsible for the slight sore throat I have. I went to the little squishy supermarket next to the Train Station, for fruit juice, fruit and snacks. They tell me in Italian "blah blah blah blah" and I say "Si!", knowing that they are asking if I want a plastic bag, without knowing a word of ...
