Cayo Saetia, Mayari Holguin, Cuba
Holguin, Cuba rienAfter landing in Cuba with beautiful weather, we collected our luggage and got onto a coach bus for another hour to get to the coast where our hotel was, but it was all good with a nice refreshing servesa to pass by the time. The scenery is nice on the way but its sad to see how bad the poverty is ...
Camaguey, Cuba scuba_jesse... Marissa in the airport and hung out with them while we waited for our flight to depart. Our neighbors from our villa were also there - along with many other people that we had met. During that time we each bought a box of cigars to take back with us. Dan and I also had four bottles of rum to take home. We were the last five people to board the flight and I chatted with a nice (and very hot) girl that was sitting next to me for the majority of the ride ...
Holguin, Cuba canadiandave... a couple times and it hurt. Those fins are big and very powerful. After the trainers let us splash around for a while, it was time to do the 'extra' event that we had paid ten pesos for. There was about seven of us in the pool with two dolphins, and I stepped up and volunteered to do the event first. The trainer told me to swim to the other end of the pool and float on my stomach with my legs stretched straight out. I did as she said and before I knew it the dolphins lifted me up with ...
Holguin, Cuba canadiandave... that he wasn't able to have any of the drinks that were in the cooler. That just goes to show how the tourists are treated so much better than the citizens. It's sad when the government only cares about things that bring in the coin. On the shore we chatted with a British couple that was on the tour with us. We also talked with the couple from our hotel who were from Toronto. There were some locals swimming on the beach, and a few meters away, an ...
Holguin, Cuba canadiandave... The first thing that I noticed was that the lock on our patio door was broken, but I wasn't too worried since I had rented a safe to keep our passports and money in. We walked outside and took our first walk on the beach. The water was crystal blue and the sand was soft and warm. It was starting to get dark by that time, so we decided that we should go find something to eat. We walked to the hotel section of the resort and found the outdoor bar by the hotel pool. We ...
Holguin, Cuba canadiandave... we did stop off at the 24 hour bar/restaurant and had some hamburgers and hot dogs. We missed the dance competition, but its ok... We have the whole week to do stuff. Day 2 - Monday I'll just warn you from the beginning. I can't remember much during the day but to sum it of for the rest of the days, this is what we basically did. Sun tan on beach while listening to the blasting beach bar Latin music. We had some nice talks with some cute Latin speaking Lifeguards ...
Holguin, Cuba truong_trinh... Salsa Cubana. That was really nice of him. We talk and hung out a lot after many of our lessons. He wanted my email, but I doubt he'll email me. Oh well, he made the trip a lot nicer. NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT I was surprised on the variety of shows they had at night. The first night won me over. It was a Latin dance competition. Every night they had a live bands and vocalists who both sang in English, Spanish and French. It was very impressive. Other nights they had "Miss ...
