... was outrageous, sooooo many trucks and of course everything travelling very quickly. It was most tiring for John as the driver. The closer we got to Milan the worse it got, anyway, we survived. Luckily the road basically bypasses Milan and we were soon in Como.
Well a shock we got! The lake is pretty but Como is a huge suburb of Milan really. In fact most of the lake has housing surrounding it, albeit rather flash housing :-). Arrived at ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

PS: Spontini take away pizza was ...

Milan was the first place I set foot in when I landed in Italy. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Although we were just there for two hours, that was enough for me to get a feel of the city. The people are all fashion forwarded. Although I knew Milan is the city of fashion I never expected everyone, and I mean everyone, to be dressed so nicely. From young to old, tall to short, everyone ...

Although the trip has come to an end, we feel the need to dedicate an entry to the wonderful food of Italy. It's hard to know where to begin though. I guess with the ingredients--the flavourful dishes only happen because of fabulous ingredients......the cheese, the olive oil, tomatoes, etc, etc. A few of our favourite things: Olive oil with oomph The smell of truffles being prepared ...
