      ... we find out way to the Piazza San Giovanni and Piazza Duomo which are dominated by the Cathedrale di Santa Maria del Flore and the adjacent baptistry. The varying shades of marble... pink, green, white... and the crowning dome on the cathedral make this one of the most beautiful buildings. Being early, the cathedral and dome are not open yet but there is a small line forming for the dome. Our timed reservation for the Uffizi is not until 10:30 so we have plenty of time to jump ...
