A final thought. As my stay with Fernando y Yvonne approached, I wondered how it would compare to living with Rebeca. I knew from the other students in my program that I had been assigned to a great family in Guanajuato--I have more food that I really want (and asking Rebeca to give me less really doesn't do much) and it's delicious and made completely from scratch. Today we visited a Prepatoria (high school) in Cuernavaca. The name of the school was Colegio de Bachilleres. The school had 2400 students and only 50 teachers. Half of the students go to school from 7 am to 1:20 pm and the other half from 2 pm to 8:20 pm. Each class has between ...

... to seeing them a week later in Cuernavaca.

Our flight took about 2 hours and we easily found the Pullman bus that would take us directly to Cuernavaca. These buses run every 20 minutes from the airport and are very comfortable and clean. An hour and half later we arrived in Cuerna and took a taxi to the house that we had rented for 2 months.

The gate was opened by a friendly, Mexican lady, Juana, who we learned, is ...

... an Aztec pyramid (also closed on a Monday...) before heading back to DF (Mexico City). While I was in Cuernavaca on the 23rd, Manuel's parents had spent the day doing the initial Christmas preparations (as it's mainly celebrated on the 24th). Though I got home in time to help make the "24 hour" fruit salad, named that way as you have to prepare it 24 hours before eating it. It helped me realise that peeling mandarines isn't one of my ...
