... the hours until the next meal, trying to occupy ourselves... so I have been working on summer internship applications and reading this great book called Mountains Beyond Mountains which is about Paul Farmer.
Well, that's all I have to report, I'm not sure when my next blog will be, probably not until after Ireland, so around December 15 I would assume.
All the best!
... balcony overlooking the ocean which was really rough today. Got relaxed as Ian will not let me do anything I have to stay in bed all the time which is ok really as I dont feel that good and my eye does not look pretty enough to go out with. Did pop out and buy some tights though as the weather is now taking a turn for the colder both Ian and I were discussing going to Egypt as its warm ha ha but not really up for flying at the ...
Opatija, Istria, Croatia traceybelle... to getting us to Slovenia where on Friday I can then go and get the stiches out. So we have a bus ride in the morning bought the lady from the appartments some chocolates and left her a note to say thanks as she has been amazing with us letting us stay for nothing. So everyone dont worry I am well enough to be typing this blog today and will put on pics for the past few weeks when the computer will let me.
Rovinj, Istria, Croatia traceybelle... is only a short bus ride away and they have some ancient ruins of an ampli theatre that we could go and visit. So we hopped on the bus after a nice breakfast and headed to the amplitheater. It was freezing so cold that we both had coats and hats on and we got the theater and it was raining. It was an amazing place and Ian went up in the audience bit and I was messing around in the arena asking him could he ...
Rovinj, Istria, Croatia traceybelle... save some money I bought some food to eat in the room. We did not really do much today went back to the room after we had found a laundry for our clothes and then I cooked both me and Beebs a lovely chicken sunday dinner with potaoes and carrots and even found some stuff so that I could make Gravy sorry not much to say but we where so tired and just wanted to chill out.
... follow suit and to catch up with me, just as we approached the busy beach.
After an afternoon at the beach, we returned to the yacht and sailed into the Harbor at Rovinj. We moored stern to at the mouth of the northern marina and took the short walk around the harbor to the old town out on an oval peninsula with a church on top. We found a place to eat dinner and then returned to the yacht for the night.
... to but Ian thinks not.
We got to our place where we are staying Rovinj about 7 in the evening and found our hotel its a little appartment with kitchen as we need to get back on budget and not spend so much money we popped out to have a look around and ended up having 3 large steiner pints of beer it was fun and then just went to bed we are both exhausted after being up since 4am and travelling through 3 countries.
We met Mauro Dujmovic for our private walking tour of Rovinj. We went past an amazing market with local produce, olive oil and souvenirs. We wound our way up through the old village to the top where the church was. The view of the sea was breathtaking. We then went for traditional Croatian coffee at a seaside cafe. Very strong.
The sunny day turned blazingly hot. We wandered through the more modern part ...
... bones disappeared from Constantinople in around 800 AD. She is now the city's patron saint & her remains lie inside the church, which has the highest belltower in northern Croatia.
Small art galleries, shops, and waterside cafes fill the narrow cobblestone streets near the harbor, and it was a pleasant place to spend a few relaxed hours.
... buy them because of the name. However, it is not just the name. These apples would really be the best apples around. I won't go on about her, but to say that she was good entertainment for the whole 12 hours. The bus ride was unsleepable because of the crazy-winding road that goes down the coast. It basically follows the shape of the cliffs and the bus drivers are mad, so they do it at break-neck speeds. So, that ends this blog, my next will be about Dubrovnik. Over and Out.
