Sleepy towns
... day started beautifully with a BLUE SKY and loads of much missed sunshine, it was bewdiful! It made for a gorgeous drive to Kelowna. We stopped at Mara Lake to eat our packed lunch, although the sun was out, it was still veeeeery chilly. We stopped at the hilarious 'Log Barn'-a totally random place on the side of the highway that sold a range of things. Sausages, pickled goods, baked goods, ice cream, gifts... But the best part of it was Dave's Goat Walk, right ...
Visiting family in Kelowna

Makes one a little homesick for family. I
even got to read a bedtime story to Brianna. Now that was special!
Will call
in and see them before we leave in the morning. Keith found some Vegemite earlier (thank goodness, now we can all have some peace) and we promised to bring some over for their breakfast.

Some Random Campsite
Kelowna was another nice town, much bigger than Golden and Vernon, also with lots of farming and vineyards in the area. After touring around a little bit, we learned that its also a much more expensive place to live. It's considered the 'Napa Valley’ of Canada, complete with vineyards, a beautiful lake, and lots of sailing in the area. We didn’t get a good look at Ogopogo the lake monster, maybe he was sleeping.

Wine Tasting
... we got taken to a different venue and so it took longer than expected once we figured that out.
We enjoyed the wine tasting. My only surprise was how teeny some of the samples were. We then went back to the hotel for some more wine and food.

Missed the mark on so many levels
My partner arranged a very special romantic weekend away for us and included this beautiful hotel for one of the nights. Check in staff was lovely and courteous and professional. The Lakeview Luxury suite he booked was really amazing... gorgeous and spacious. We went for dinner and ordered steak with blue cheese topping. The service was terrible! It took forever to get our wine, and then we waited again to get a glass! Finally when the steak arrived it was ...
