Since you last heard from us we've travelled through two more countries, leaving France behind. First there was Switzerland for a few days and then the tiny country of Liechtenstein wedged between Switzerland and Austria. But first I'm going to backtrack to our last couple of days in France spent in the beautiful Alps in the town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. We left Annecy behind and headed west to Chamonix to get a close up view of western Europe's ...

As I was writing this story I kept misspelling Disentis with Dementis now there could well be something in that as catching the Glacier Express to the Swiss ski resort area of Disentis with our tandem could well be a demented aspiration. We'd slept in waking at 7:00. Our itinerary started with a train trip from Chur to the spa resort of Muster in Disentis. Our goal of riding the Rhine from near its source starts here some 1,130 metres above sea level. ...

"This is awesome", were the first words Lisa uttered as we started today's ride.

"What's awesome?" I quizzed. Lisa was a-gush with praise for our Pino'ing holiday. She explained it was the perfect combination of scenery, food and riding. It ticks all the boxes for an outdoors loving foodie photographer!

Our tour organiser had advised Walenstadt to Chur wasn't a tourist route and he couldn't provide any directional literature. We needed ...

... of rumble dryer! Along the way there's lots of odd scenes. The Boomerang Bar in Walenstadt, the panel shop with old relics as planter boxes or the three-wheeler with its equally small caravan. At breakfast we met an English couple, Mike and Cathy. They were on the one week, three lakes, five countries ride and their ride today coincided with ours. Cathy explained they were late to cycling but love cycle holidays, this being their third. We arrived at Weesen in time for the ...
