Day 2: Nice weather, nice tunnels and lakes

... way up to Zürichsee today, but the small (15 km) dertour took a couple of grains and a bit of time. But now we know that you have to take the valley to the left if you're in Sargans, not to follow the red signs blindly.

The right turnoff brings you to a fascinating route along the Walensee with a lot of lakeside view, bike-only tunnels and lots of industrial area with stuff to ...

... the growl of a nice V-2 bike. Probably a Harley. As the guy flew past, I gave him a "Yeehaa" and he took off like only a Harley in a tunnel can. About 500 m straight of pure full-throttle harley-in-a-tunnel bliss that makes your ears tingle and breaks the smallest kidney stones, provided you have some.

I think Stef just heard a loud motorcycle.

But she probably could've told me it was a V-2 if ...

... the pass roads do in the Swiss Alps
but finally it came out at the lower end of what appears to have once been a
        massive glacier run.

        From
here one could see the road making its way all the way up the side of this run
to the very top of the mountains.

        This
road is also full of history and has man made caves all along the cliff edges.
I have no idea what these caves or tunnels were ever built for but one can only
        presume it was ...

        ... updating this lot.
The hotel is way up high, very picturesque, and it's a sort of cabin style.
It lovely tho and you are in the neighbourhood, definitely worth a visit.
Breakfast was great, and the people really friendly. One fella, it seems all the locals use this for morning coffee break, asked me how you say bon appetite in English and all I could think was, Enjoy.
Now off to see an absent mighty four.

Smaller than Marco, but bigger than Ollie, just!

Wanted to stop but, the only car park was full, the one street already had four motorbikes parked outside the only pub, and the McDonalds seat was taken, and the local hooker had already pulled the mayor!
Obviously all thats a joke, but I did get through it quite quickly, and wanted to find somewhere to stay.
