... were warned to protect our eyeglasses, jewelry and anything else that might attract the monkeys, but we lucked out with no incidents of theft occurring. We explored the exterior of the ancient structure and viewed the dramatic seascapes along its promenade. It was pretty but we were unable to explore the interior so it just turned out to be a nice view spot. Our afternoon was free to enjoy the beach.

... a little walk to the beach to see what all the fuss was about and was greeted by golden sand and a sea full of half dressed men surfing so we were pretty happy to hang around for a little while and chill. Unfortunately the weather was quite windy which meant we didn't stay too long and decided to head back to the town to have a little look around the shops.

We booked our bus to Ubud for tomorrow and then headed back to pack up - again!

... permanent resident box and after 2 years of waiting to do so it felt like a relief! We made our way to passport control and braced ourselves for all sorts of questions. Laura was panicking that something was going to go wrong and we’d be turned away, but it couldn’t have been easier. They took one look at our passport, stamped it and we were in!! Hallelujah. Welcome to Australia

We grabbed our bags for the final time and it was nice ...

... We then went for a walk down the beach back towards Legian and Kuta. We also got caught unexpectedly by a waist high wave that just swept up the beach! The waves were crazy that day, they crashed far out but then swept up over the beach so quickly! It was clear now how poor Amie had been caught out! We went for a drink at the Kuta Playa hotel and bar, had a good catch up then went to get some food in a little cafe between Poppies Lane 1 and Poppies Lane ...
