... hadn't realised when we stopped in Bellinzona last night that it is a Unesco World Heritage listed site, as it has 3 magnificent castles built in the 13th, 14th & 15th centuries and surrounded by a high city wall, and then surprisingly the weekend was also Unesco 'open house' weekend, so all buildings were open and free to the public.
Our hotel served a wonderful breakfast buffet with the gorgeous view of the lake. The lake was cut by a glacier and is 1200 feet deep. It's a beautiful teal blue color and there are swans and ducks all around. ... hotel Villa Sebolloni (a very posh, ritzy hotel here.) they are traveling with a large group associated with a lighting manufacturer that sponsors vacations for their customers every year. Finalmente! At the lounge. Caught 12.20 bus out to Malpensa. Took 10 minutes to walk to the Metro, catch the train and get on the express bus. So far so good. ... doomed to run back to the hostel. We grabbed the brolly and went for a walk down the lake front and decided to get some food from a fancy restaurant for our lunch. The place was fancy and the price tag definitely matched the food that came out. We ordered a starter of seafood platter, none of which was deep fried.
