      ... have enough intelligence to flag one down or approach one if they want one and really do not like being hassled.

      Oh dear, looks like I am rambling again. I'll put it down to too much heat walking about in the midday sun before I composed this. Where were we? Oh yes, Galle station and how has it taken me this many paragraphs to describe a two hour train journey where nothing happened? This blog may just take a while.

      ... weaving my way through the sprawling, but surprisingly scenic Colombo I rode into the middle of Sri lankas equivalent of the Tour de France.
      Again, the coppers were everywhere stopping traffic for the cyclists and then racing on to control the next lights or intersection. I snuck in between a couple of support vehicles and got a clear run through the rest of the city and the next thing I was on Galle Rd, which hugs the coast heading south.

      ... captain suddenly changed direction, the wind was soon back and we were popping over big waves once more. Hanging over the front of the boat, I was catching the best of the breeze, and the spray as it coated the front of the boat.
