... stop for me is Villa Carlotta which is a villa and a lovely garden. 9 euro. Back in the boat to Bellagio. Another beautiful town. I have lunch here. I have a buffet which is disappointing. Cost 15euro including a glass of wine. Back on the boat ...

Anyway, got organised with info etc. The Internet is a bit hit and miss. Then went out to ...

We wandered throughout the lakeside park and town square for a few hours before jumping on the ferry again and headed for Varenna.

Unfortunately most of the lunch places along the lake were closed still and so we found a ...

... spectacular and we have been blown away with the vast mountain ranges with snow covering them, it was surreal.Sophie fell asleep at the perfect time as the road was starting to become a little winding.
We crossed the border from Austria into Switzerland and soon arrived at St Moritz. Once again the scenery was amazing with snow capped mountains, people skiing along walking tracks, husky's at training school and a lake that was covered over. We stopped for a break and a ...

... woes apart, this was a thoroughly nice place to be. I indulged in the sense of History, as you do.

Next morning was time for the classic view of Locarno, which can be found from a funky monastery high above the town. We were grateful for the services of a funicular to get us up the mountainside, rising through a steep gorge. We had a fun chat with a honeymooning English couple from the North West, about our age, and who had clearly not been married for the first ...
