Another yummy buffet breakfast at our villa then we boarded the bus at 8:15 and were off to Florence, the Renaissance city. There we met a guide who gave us a walking tour that included the Galleria dell'Accademia where Michelangelo's David is, the Duomo with the dome by Brunelleschi and the ancient main square Piazza della Signora, where David used to be and his copy now stands instead.

One should always start off the day with a decent breakfast. Thankfully, these Italians have discovered that the Americans like a little more fuel in the morning than the typical native cuisine of caffe, roll, and a cigarette.
