          ... Palazzo Vecchio, but contrary to the brochure that said it closed at 11.00pm on Saturdays it was closing and hour after we got there. So that will wait until tomorrow.           ... feet up resting. Have a big day tomorrow, going on a gout if Tuscany, Siena And the San Gimignano area. Can't wait. Will be about 11 hours, and I don't have to organise a thing. Yay.           Another yummy buffet breakfast at our villa then we boarded the bus at 8:15 and were off to Florence, the Renaissance city. There we met a guide who gave us a walking tour that included the Galleria dell'Accademia where Michelangelo's David is, the Duomo with the dome by Brunelleschi and the ancient main square Piazza della Signora, where David used to be and his copy now stands instead.

          One should always start off the day with a decent breakfast. Thankfully, these Italians have discovered that the Americans like a little more fuel in the morning than the typical native cuisine of caffe, roll, and a cigarette.
