We later walked through the narrow streets up and down the hill and soaked up the atmosphere. And we ended up near a Roman temple that was well -preserved.
Pula made a nice day visit and we're glad we did it that way. It's a larger city with a lot going on, but we are enjoying our quiet fishing village up the coast.

Tomorrow, we have a travel day. We set out at 4:40 am and will transfer buses at Rijeka. From there we will go to Zadar, another lovely city down the Dalmatian coast. We plan on spending a couple of weeks exploring this coast. It's time to slow it down a bit and enjoy the guilty pleasure of global warming's effects. The weather should be in the 10 -15 C range (50 - 60 F).
In the afternoon we walked around past the fishing boats and the men were fixing the nets, cutting and mending, and getting the nets ready to drop for the next day.
Walked around the the foreshore for a few kilometres and saw a huge sailing ship which had come in. There are a lot of private yachts calling in each night and mooring. A friend of David's from NZ has just been sailing down the Dalmation coast.

We walked around the two small islands which are joined. Not a lot of people around - mainly just sitting around the huge pool at the resort!
... in smaller rooms. That’s something that’s been common on this tour. Once the group is all together with everyone talking, the decibel level approaches that of two F-18 Super Hornets taking off with full afterburner! I've seen two F-18's taking off with afterburner, so I know what that sounds like. I may have to pack earplugs to group dinners from now on. It really is a problem for me, but I suppose it's inevitable with a group ...
