    ... back for the hair treatment. The bad thing about the hairdresser only speaking German is that I had to remain most of the time as translator, there are only so many magazine you can look at. Anyway four hours later the magic was done, I was expecting a horrific bill of over €200 but it was only 90 a bargain. Next to Piazza Erbe is Piazza Dante, with a large statue of the Italian poet Dante Alighieri in the middle, and a villa and tombs of the once powerful Scaligeri family (a bit like Florence's Medici family) ...

    ... an archway to the Piazza del Erbe (1301), once the Roman forum. A brass band all dressed up in traditional garb marched in to here and continued entertaining the crowd. At one end of the piazza is the della Scala palace also built in 1301 and capped with six statues of pagan gods. Lots of restaurants here and very busy. Also went and looked at the family graveyard of the powerful della Scala family with its impressive tombs from the 14thC. Could clearly see the ladder on their coat ...
