The German train system is on strike until Monday. That is all BUT the ICE (intercity express) trains. So we did catch our 6:45 AM train from Brussels to Frankfurt. It was a little eerie to see all the trains parked. There were a few running but in most of the stations, like Koln and Bonn, we were the only train.

On the way to pick up the rental car we had this great Iranian cab ...

... service I think I received from the lovely Lufthansa flight attendant that checked me in and you get my current mood. She mentions that she very kindly put me in an exit row seat for my first flight because I'm tall. Nawwww. big mall. No traffic! You can walk in every direction and not have to cross a street. MY feet are holding up as we are going ...

What I would say to anyone remotely interested in this type of travel, if you can ride a bike to your corner store, you can do this, not necessarily in the exact way we have, but there are so many ways ...

... and look for that special airplane because you know what.......my 11 hours flight from Frankfurt all the way to Bangkok was on an Airbus A380 considered the world's largest passenger airliner. I was all excited about it and just couldn’t wait to see it with my own eyes!
