I made it to Lagos yesterday. Its basically a beach/party town. The second place that I walked into turned out to be a really great room for 25 euros a night complete with my first english language tv of the trip. Today I spent part of the day in Sagres, the southwestern most point in europe. Good for pictures and walking really really far. Tomorrow I´m going to attempt to get to Seville.
... the city. Lagos is such a small but beautiful town. The people are more friendly than I've experienced thus far here in Spain. The shops are soo unique, just like the city they are filled with so much life and culture.
I feel so tremendously lucky, I never thought I'd have such an opportunity to be able to travel like this. Our world is so full of culture and I've only begun to explore it!
My journies continue. I am going to continue to praise Portugal for the rest of this trip, i think. I dont know which place i have had a better time at. Ohh, wait, i know, Portugal.
This country has it all, for me. Great food, cheap food, cheap alochol, surfing, great beaches. Relaxation, cheap partying, a language i am willing to learn, relaxed and very friendly people and if i was single, beautiful women. Now, the only downside is that there isnt a ...
... Portuguese cod dish, which was out of this world. It was our first dinner as the 6 of us, which was definitely nice.
We were a little astonished by the amount of attention we got just walking down the street. Greece, Italy no problems but for some reason a group of 5 white girls plus 1 asian girl makes an impression on the men. Not mentioning any names, but one of us was treated to a nice slap on the ass. Please see upcoming photos for ...
Life was pretty sweet in Lagos - we stayed for a week, and could have stayed for 10 more.. Beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, lovely town, the best weather, and it was nice and cheap! We could go out for a decent dinner for 10-15 euros and there was Cafe Odeon that did 3 euro breakfasts run by a Dutchman.. YUUUUMMMY!
We spent most days beach hopping, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful water and scenery, playing 'beach ball' italian style! (even though they were JAM PACKED ...
... lucky to have her in my life & I'd really like to get a replacement ring.
If anyone is visiting and is able to drop off a few rings to a nearby resort. My friend owns a timeshare and the people at the resort will pay you to make it worth your while.
Thanks,
Andy

... to sit with them.
That's all behind us now (including being last through customs in Faro - but we got plenty of travel advice and tips). The hotel we are calling home in teh Algarve over the next 5 days is called Monte do Casal and it is fabulous! Notwithstanding that they upgraded us to a Suite with our own private terrace with views to the ocean. Will upload some photos of the hotel (where no kids are allowed), but before we do that, some welcomed sleep is needed.
... Ended up surfing one day with a Crazy Englishman who loved to talk a pulling his pud, the friendliest Welshman, a relatively quiet Irishman, a very cool yank and a couple of spanish lads as well. The change of pace was a great decision in the end, a lot more chilled out, scored some epic waves and made some really good mates along the way. So to some things up- first trip as a solo traveler- complete success!
Lagos, Algarve, Portugal rusty_oz... we'd come via "X" town and we said that we hadn't. Of course, we had, we'd just been pronouncing it wrongly all day). Both these places are pretty and we did a fab boat tour from Lagos. At Silves, we explored a castle (I hope I've remembered these two places round the right way) which always goes down well with Mr Monk-san. The supermarket was very competetively priced, so we ...
