... the mountain it was sunny!
And our meal at Chez David was fab. All four of us had magnificent meals.
We left sadly on Wednesday morning. We won't be back for nine months. It has been such a joy to have friends in this part of France, and the opportunity to speak English! S&S were waiting for a load of sand to arrive in preparation for laying floors at the end of October. When we come back next year, they should be living in their new ...

Then we visited another cafe called Le Maxil. Very trendy place the owner who has worked in the states loves to speak English. It was a great Bar and really quite modern place - especially for Massat!!! Then the highlight of the day was bumping into some other bikers from holland and Germany who have given me yet another destination to head ...

Meeting up with James Rebecca and Ludo in Massat was great. A warm welcome after such along ride was fabulous. Parked the bike and up the now familiar track to the remote cabin on the mountainside. - oh what a beautiful place. A warm welcome with two of my favourite people and one of my favourite beers - such great company what more could a man want (only one thing would make this more perfect - for Liz to be here with me). I ...

Day 5: Bagnères-de-Luchon –Col de Portet d’Aspet – Saint-Girons Today’s route, though mountainous, was far less strenuous than yesterday’s epic ride. We started with a smooth 20km downhill ride through the valley from Luchon, passing through small villages and farms. At Fronsac we started our first climb, the Col ...
