    ... for surfing. I really liked walking around Lagos as it had so many interesting, historic buildings such as churches, Forte de Ponta Bandeira, Governors Castle. The slave market is currently under renovation. This dates back to the slave trade and is the place Africans were kept until sold. This obviously is no longer in use.     ... sunny. Siesta today as was really hot!!! Went for swim in dumping waves... Brought back half the beach with me but felt lovely. Lovely dinner out... The lady was lovely and so surprised when we said we were from NZ. She went to tell her husband behind the bar and when she came back she said that he had said that NZ was by Sth America.     ... peninsula with 60m to 80m drop all around the cliffs. Then the fort was very well protected and easy to defend. It was pretty fascinating with a couple of roped off caves where you can hear the ocean surging. Once again fishermen teetering precariously on cliff tops all for a fish!!!!     ... person with airbnb didn't show!!! Finally after a call to their help line managed to rally someone up to let us in. Phew!!! Not sure what plan B was. Beautiful spot .... Apartment ok very cosy but a lovely view, close to bay and everything close. The beach has escalators up and down to get from the look out to the beach.
