Vila Gale Fortaleza

Me and Lisseth went to Beach Park today! Its a water park outside of fortaleza, like those in the United States, it was great!! We had alot of fun. It was her first time in a park like this. This is the only one in South America of this size. Wave pools, water rides, the works!! Brazil is very impressive, very developed, great infrastructure and alternatives to travel to other cities, which is important to me.

Ive been here one month total and had a very nice time!!! Check out the pics. The people are nice but I havent met any Americans only Italians and people from europe. ... dunes. i had no idea that this part of brasil had so many massive sand dunes throughout the entire coast line. some are super white and within the dunes you find these crystal clear, blue blue blue little lagoons tucked away within all the dunes in the area.

Marcelo has on old friend that lives in Paracuru, and what an amazing person he turned out to be. the man lives in his house that he built himself, and on a peice of land that he pretty much lives ...

... going to be like, but i didnt expect dunes. Jeri is a tiny little town, most famous for kite and wind surfing, and yes there is always a good breeze. the town itself has no paved roads, all sand, and very colorful. it is pretty touristy, but luckily i got there for the low season, and the crowds were small and chill. i found this place to camp there, which was super cool and helped me save up some money cause this town is kind of expensive. i stayed there for a total of 3 ...

... on the flights and we also got to watch a couple of movies on the way from Dallas to Sao Paulo. If you haven't seen it already, The Hangover and The Proposal are both cute movies. We got a meal on the flight last night which was pretty good! Pasta with Chicken that Terri and I picked off, a salad, a roll and a nice little oatmeal chewy dessert! Go American Airlines!

... and it was a nice change of pace, compared to the cramped/smelly/dirty places we've been in so far. We're taking a bus to Salvador tonight(7pm), and that should be interesting. Salvador is largely black in population, because it had a large number of slaves during. It has lots of culture and soul, and I'm looking forward to exploring the city. Tchau tchau

We were supposed to meet with a fellow CouchSurfer in Fortaleza but we never received a response from him (turns out the Internet server on the ship "crashed"). Nonetheless we had a wonderful time in Fortaleza with fellow cruisers. We visited the local market and then walked down to the main beach (30C by the way) where we secured a very comfortable table at a beach-side restaurant where we sat under a large umbrella; watched the locals; and ...

... it´s ok. Then I see a gigantic cathedral off in the distance and decide to head towards it. I´m walking and walking and nowhere is there a sign pointing or giving any indication whatsoever of where this mysterious cathedral is. I must have walked 3 miles and finally I stumble upon said cathedral. And to my amusement (possibly the greatest amusement in my life) I see a sign right out in front of this huge cathedral. And you know ...

A gorgeous beach even if it does have a few tourists. we had a gorgeous pousada on the side of a cliff above the beach with a spectacular view over the sea. had a great time quad biking on the beach and all over the dunes to some beautiful lagoons. And some wonderful Quading on the dunes!

... etc. Antes de tomar café fazemos um devocional individual. Após o café nós fazemos um devocional coletivo com louvor e uma palavra de reflexão. Após o devocional temos as aulas teóricas. Na parte da tarde almoçamos e vamos para diversas áreas para colocar em prática o que aprendemos. Eu fui designado para um bairro chamado de Araturi.
