    ... at the foothill of the Carpathian Mountains. It has it's name spelt out on Mount Tampa near the funicular, Hollywood-style. There was still snow on some mountains in the area, which looked gorgeous. I stayed in the Old Town just down from Poarta Schei.

    ... This is one of the parts of European travel that I love most. Although in 2nd class, this train is quiet, clean, and most important SMOKE FREE!

    Our first journey outside the capital saw us head out to the world-famous Transylvanian mountains. Although we were later to realise that it's a relatively expensive form of transport, Sarah was happy to indulge me in my love of trains.
