... Stoker isn't even real, even though the real-life Vlad Tepes was a seriously badass mofo. There was nothing supernatural about him, though you could argue that a man that could even conceive of the cruel and inhumane acts that he perpetrated couldn't be of this World. Seriously, impaling 20,000 Turkish soldiers through the anus and out the shoulder while skillfully avoiding any major organs, to ensure a slow and agonizing death that took up to three ...

The advantage of taking this death trap to the top was that we saved a ton of time and energy on the hike, making our journey much easier, at least in theory.

    The road was ...

... in France. It was closed so we couldn't go in, which was just as well because Beckett was having a rare meltdown. We were just about to decide to cut the walking tour short and head back when the little monkey fell asleep-- yeah 30lbs of dead weight. So walk we did. There were lots of stunning old buildings, especially around the main square, but Chubba wanted to show us the main medieval gate before heading home-- only after did I realize we took the LONG way ...

... some lovely mountains. The churches are quite elaborate, with shiny silver
spires & domes. Romania is also another hour ahead, so 2 hours in front of
    the UK.

We’ve never seen so many police in one country – or are we
being neurotic? They obviously can’t catch the Romanian drivers!
