I sat out the morning walking tour of Donji Milanovac, as I wanted to do some writing. But before breakfast, Peter led a worship service in the lounge. This is the third Sunday he has done that, and attendance has been about 75. The beautiful grand piano in the lounge was fun for me to play. People have expressed a great deal of appreciation for the worship time, and we have enjoyed leading it.

There is only a short section of un-tarred road (about 100m) but the rest of the road as we went north on the Route 7C was newly asphalted - in fact they were painting the lines in places. The countryside is much more "open" - either being above the natural tree line or the trees have been removed. We loved the feeling of freedom and space as we wound our way along the ridge top.

... almost everywhere puts many countries to shame. Whilst some of the side roads are best avoided the main road network is not bad at all. But you don't, or should not, come to Romania for fine roads. Come to experience a country striving for a better future, come to see the wonderful diversity of the place. Come with an open mind and go away treasuring as we do, the experience.

... and there were quite a few cars parked on the side of the road. We knew when the double zero car passed us that there was a rally around here somewhere! Just a few kilometres further up the road it was closed. We managed to park Tilly nearby and Neville went for a look. It was the Sibiu Rally Challenge.
