... the geology and how these diamonds were made millions of years ago and the craftsmanship of the diamond cutters is also very impressive. After the diamonds we had a couple of hours free time in Amsterdam. It was our last chance to soak up the place so we wandered up to Dam Square and then had a meal of croquettes and fricandellen, very yummy indeed and very Dutch! ... if I sat in a bunch of nettles, my legs are loaded with milkacid etc etc but what a privilage to be en route !
Today I met again several people. A Dutch couple who gave me interesting information as they did the German part of the tour already several times and a German/Italian couple who were fascinated by the fact that there are people who step on a bike and decide to go to Italy! A tip. Go swimming in the lake at Bregenz :-) !!

This place must get very busy in the Summer as there is a huge children’s play area, a petting zoo, a huge swimming complex, a gym, racquet courts, a fishing lake etc. Horror of horrors there is even bike hire! L What amazed us more than anything was the mix of camping units here. Loads of them seem to be permanent fixtures, with many static caravans with extensions and even extensions on the extensions with decking, garden sheds, statues in the gardens, windmills on the roof ...
