We also found a shop we had gone in last time that had official German "stuff" and I found the candle merry-go-round thingy mother had...I wanted to get one for our family tradition.     We arrived in Cologne at noon, and after another delicious lunch we headed off on a tour of the city, which is dominated by the Cologne Cathedral. One word for the Cathedral - WOW!!! Us Catholics sure know how to spend the peasants money!!...:-)

    Early this morning, about 4.30, we sailed passed Frankfurt and onto Cologne, berthing at about 1pm. We opted for the city walking tour which was about 1.5 hour duration. We learnt about the history of Cologne, or Koln as it is called in Germany. With a population of 1 million, it's the 4th biggest city in Germany (behind Berlin, Hamberg, Munich).     ... have a nose round the cathedral. So off we went to wander the streets of Cologne with the cathedral as our ultimate destination. Strictly speaking, that's what happened, although, admittedly there was a detour at another fantastic microbrewery, which was at least opposite the cathedral, sort of. Looking for somewhere to go for some freshly brewed beer in Cologne? You won't do much better than Früh am Dom.
