    ... Some had marshmallows to toast. The kids loved that! Others had their kebabs on a metal skewer. They grilled in a jiffy and were pulled off into a loaf of bread. Fast food! We did wonder whether they would be tainted as there was a slight whiff of paraffin at the flame.

    ... to drive me to Mount Chimaera to see the Eternal Flames of the Chimera, natural gas flames that have been coming out of the mountain for centuries. It's best to go at night, so the flames are visible. The hike up is a broken road, climbing small boulders and gravel. He tried holding my hand to help me, but it got too awkward!     Oh man. On the bus to Antalya, the woman next to be was viscous with sick. Her fluids seeped into me and I partook in a Turkish flu. Feverish, headache, coughing.     ... t refer to the the long stretches of sand we are used to, rather stones and pebbles!).

    Spent our 2 days here relaxing on the cushions under the shade at Bayrams and swimming at the beach. A nice reprieve! The people were friendly, the free dinners delicious and the surroundings beautiful.

    ... over this ancient mystery...and a little creepier watching the group of women (coven of witches??) hold hands, sing and chant around one of the larger fires.

    We're not clear on whether the nearby Mount Olympos and the Greek ruins and the eternal flame all translate into the inspiration behind the Olympics and its flame. More research required...feel free to add a comment if you know the answer.
