... the dance rehearsals for everyone, I put sunblock on and didn't get burnt but many made that mistake and were feeling it as we came back, on our way into the hotel a rotarian held us up and said there would be games and that we had to return at a certain time, he said also to bring as many of the other exchange students as possible,(Which at the time we didn't realise clashed with the dance rehearsals time), we said we would be there and then went back to our hotel rooms, ...

... That night was the much awaited expedition to the Chimeara or as commonly known, the flames of Olympus. Homer, in his Iliad and Odyssey spoke about the Chimeara all those hundreds of years ago. Breakfast at our hotel was fabulous... everything Turkish plus French toast and omelets. Leaving Konya we headed to the highway which took us through the Taurus Mountains -- very, very steep, many switchbacks close together, 7000 feet at the top with still some snow.
