From Santorini we took the ferry to the island of Amorgos. Amorgos is a good sized island, but with only about 1,200 people. Our plan was to stay for a few nights and then head back to Folegandros for a week.

Sailing to Skhoinoussa was great; our first opportunity to put wind in the sails and lean the boat over on its side a little. This was the perfect place to recover from the pirate like behavior from the night before.... if it weren't for Dave introducing drinking games.

... James Bond film For Your Eyes Only. Amorgos was also a chance for me to meet all the other Gap Adventures skippers. ALL four of the boats were in Amorgos today and we were able to tie up three of them together. With a group like this drinking like sailors is not just an expression, it is a right of passage. In Greece, the local firewater is Ouzo and I have no problem saying out loud that it sucks!

Scenic island with fun port of Katapola
... Almost as perplexing is why the big Blue Star Ferry stops in Egiali instead of Katapola.
As I waited in Egiali a minimarket opened and I bought a Coke Zero. I asked the guy working how much a taxi was to Katapola and he said 20-22 euros but then mentioned that a private car would only charge 10 euros. I inquired about where to find one of these "private cars" and he chatted in Greek to a friend that was sitting there and then to me he said, "5 minutes." At least ...
Nauseating Busrides and Amazing Views
Amorgos was quite amazing! Sorry it took so long to talk about it, it also had expensive internet :S. Unlike the other islands we've been to, Amorgos was TALL. We spend a lot of time climbing winding switchbacks up mountain sides and back down. Our first day was spent at the local campsite beach in the wind. The campsite was friendly and not exactly enlgish friendly. We had quite a few hilarious converstions trying to order food at the resteraunt, but we managed to find an ...
