Haggis Adventures advertise Scotland as 'wild and sexy.' Well I'm not so sure about the sexy bit, but Scotland was definitely showing its wild side today. Up and away before the 8.30am sunrise, our first stop of the morning was of course Loch Ness! Adventure into the Scottish Highlands
On Saturday and Sunday I took a bus tour through the Scottish Highlands. It was great to see the countryside with its picturesque lochs, glens, mountains, waterfalls, and villages. Our tour group was lucky to get to see the mountains with and without snow with the timing of a snowstorm in the middle of our trip. Our tour guide, Gary, said the tour bus might not make it all the way for the rest of the year until Spring because of the snow.

... at their fanciful tales, but you can't help but feel a little jealous at the strong traditions that the Scots still hold dear. The modern world exists here, but the past is never far away. This seems especially strong in Skye where Gaellic language is still used alongside English, and where there is still novelty factor for the locals when strange tourists invade their tight little enclaves, shaking things up at the Kyleakin pub on a Wednesday night.

... Photos wouldn't do the scene justice and we were happy to stop to explore this amazing place. We even had the windy, wet weather to give us greater effect for the experience. The castle is well maintained and it is a really well presented example of what it would have been like to live in a castle. In fact, people still live in the castle, I find that totally amazing and totally awesome!
