... of the evening chatting & drinking with them! Afterwards, we headed for something to eat & went to a bar accross the road. Come 12 we got thrown out. Its mad how early the pubs close here! If they tried closing the pubs at 12 at home on a saturday night there'd be uproar! We had no other choice but call it a night!

We decided to get sorted for Halong Bay today. First we headed for breakfast, where we met a retired Irish couple, they were really ...
... we had to pay. The hotel is very clean, friendly, helpful staff. It is more than we wanted to pay for accommodation as we need to get back down to £2.00 per person per night. It worked out to be £4.00 per person per night, but we couldn't be bothered to move on as it seemed like to much effort after a long day.
After some good food, (burger and chips in the hostel, £1) we took a walk to ...

We lazed around the hotel pool for one day and decided that we were bored of Hong Kong and that we were going to go to another country.

The other thing is soon you will be an old hand at the whole process and will actually be feeling quite comfortable walking IN the streets AMONGST the traffic (many times there is no choice, trust me.)

Last night I went to a fast food Pho restaurant and had a huge bowl of rice noodle soup. It comes with a plate of "add ins". Once off the bus we caught a taxi to the Hanoi Backpackers Hostel, the hostel is located in the middle of an alley way just a couple of roads away from the main city centre. The alleyway is filled with loads of other hostels and so this area of town is full of other ...
... Thai To moved the country's capital from Hoa Lu in Ninh Binh to Thang Long (today's Ha Noi). There's more record-breaking architecture. The pagoda's magnificent three-door gate is the biggest of this kind in Viet Nam, built with 550 tonnes of iron wood. Four 13,8m-high pillars tower over the entrance, flanked by two 5.5m-high solid bronze guard statues, weighing 12 tonnes each. Around the gate are eight smaller bronze statues of Kim Cuong angels, each weighing 8 tonnes ...
Hanoi, Vietnam chixoe269... in a taxi we saw a big crowd by the lake and jumped out. Apparently we had just missed the turtle! Jasmine had never seen it before in her life and we were so close! We went for a drink at the top of a building overlooking the lake and the views were really good.
We met up with some more of Jasmine's friends for dinner and they picked us up on the back of there scooters. This ride was even crazier than the last one! We went around the lakes to a really local restaurant ...
