Inside the castle we visited the private apartments of the royal family which quite impressively decorated, and continued to learn about the many different families who lived there over the years. ... listed town of Cesky Krumlov, but that didn't detract from its charm in any way. A wonderfully preserved historical town built around a river with a Baroque castle on the hill above. This place is stunning, even in the drizzling rain. We caught a cab in the rain to our hostel, Hostel Postel, with quite possibly the tiniest room we've stayed in so far. Cat swinging is not on the agenda here but a cosy place, nonetheless.

Wednesday 16th October

We all slept very well and woke quite late. I think we're all well and truly adjusted now. We had planned to start our day at the museum of torture for the boys while Milly and I looked at some shops and then we were off to the Castle. We had to wait until 10 so there was some writing of postcards and photo sorting, a quick trip to the shops for milk and dinner ingredients, before heading out for the day. The boys really ...
