    ... got to see quite a bit of Nanchang which was delightful - we got to see the Palace in the City, one of the first built 'wheels' - is larger than the London Eye, and settled in for a night cruise - which was an amazing light show on all the city buildings. The light show was a story of the 'Red Army' which was founded in the Jiangxi province. It was simply spectacular, as every riverside building was lit up and the story was reflected on both sides of the river.

    So the train experience is over and we are freshly showered at our hotel in Nanchang. Nanchang is the smallest of our cities so far. At first glance it feels more 'in-the wops' but at 5.5million people we’re far from being in a town. Due to its proximity to both the famous Yangtze River and the Pearl River Delta regions, it is (as we saw) a major railroad hub in Southern China. (Thanks, Wikipedia)

    ... I made a mental note to wash my hands well with soap before I ate lunch.

    We wandered around the three villages and checked off all five sites that were included in my ticket, which included a small museum of farming implements, a couple mansions and a dismantled watch tower.

    We drove back and made it just in time for me to catch a sleeper train home. Six hours later, it was raining in Changsha.
