... to explore Wan Chai, starting by stumbling across a street market but somehow buying nothing. We did take our first trip on Hong Kong's unique double-decker, wooden-sided trams. Obviously, we sat upstairs to enjoy the best views but it also came with the advantage of having more of a breeze than downstairs. ... the glass. This was going to be a challenge. Decided to move to the end of the station to try the last carriage. It worked. We squeezed on. This was for the first five stations. Then had to get off and change lines. Did the same thing. Last carriage definitely the way to go. One more change of trains that was not so crowded and we made it to the airport.

... Crystal Jade Shangaiese and food courts a plenty!

For Martin's birthday on Christmas Eve we splashed out on breakfast at the Ritz Carlton on the 102nd floor overlooking Hong Kong Island. Amazing selection of pastries, fry up, dim sum, food, omelettes and after about 5 plates each we headed to Macau for a flurry on the slot machines, wandering around the old town and cemetery, and dinner at Fernando's Portuguese restaurant.
