Nha Trang, Vietnam bethloHallo Today a ralaxing day with a boot trip to an island, lunch on the boot, a swim in the sea and for me a massage on the beach. After that we took the cable car to an island with lots of playareas and a fun fair now I gotta go to bed at 7am we have to be on our bikes. Good night
Nha Trang, Vietnam bethloMac didn't like this place very much, it was good if you wanted to sit on the beach but the town was dull. The hotel was very nice but the bar had all the atmosphere of a turnip. There were some nice trips out but these only served to highlight the rubishness of the town. If you want to go to the Carribean go there, we wanted traditional Vietnam, .this wasn't it! The number of photos say it all Booooooooo Mac Ok, if you have to go there ( like we did) there is a fab place to eat and drink cal...
Nha Trang, Vietnam easton-martinThe three of us survived a long, bumpy, overnight bus ride from Saigon to arrive at the beaches of Nha Trang by sunrise. A short nap and breakfast later, we made a beeline for the umbrella-shaded lounge chairs near the lapping waves. After several weeks of touring, we were in a rush to do absolutely nothing. And absolutely nothing we did, besides the occasional suntan lotion lathering or pina colada seek-and-drink mission. We interrupted the wonderful monotony of beach life only twice. On our...
Nha Trang, Vietnam jes242 Reason for the title is that we arrived in Nha Trang at 6am in the morning from our sleeper train. Didn't really sleep on the train as it was so cold due to the immense air-con that you are unable to stop even during the night. Typical Brit complaining about the temperature.
Today was fairly boring as i was so tried that once at the hotel i decided that i would hit the hay straight away and not bother with looking around the town.
Once fully active again, around 2pm due to int...
We arrived in the Nha Trang station at night and in the rain and checked into our hotel, Vien Dong - an apparent traveller's favourite close to the beach. The next morning we awoke to the sound of pouring rain and thunder, something I would usually love to listen to, but not today when we were supposed to take a boat trip around the islands of Nha Trang. We met with our guide soon after and decided to put off the trip until tomorrow, hoping for more favourable weather. When there was a break ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam kukaisBoarded the train after yet another stop at a marble shop - we refused to go in and spent the time wandering the streets looking at the marble statues, some of which are enormous. Also available to purchase are huge 8 seater solid marble tables complete with 8 solid marble chairs - how on earth do you move any of them to get in to sit at the table? How on earth do they think it can be transported around the world? None of this stopped them asking met if I'd like to buy these huge items. We've...
Nha trang, Vietnam magswiftAfter a noisy awakening by the jackhammers blasting away in what sounded like the room next door, I joined the others for breakfast before we went on a boat trip to one of the little islands nearby. After our last boat trip I was a bit dubious but neednt have worried as we had a good time. We puttered away on our little boat, stopping at a nearby island to visit the fishing community. This is the first time I have seen local people looking happy and content - the whole island seemed like a li...
Nha trang, Vietnam magswiftHaving decided to give the 'optional extras' a miss from now on, six of us set out for a days touring the city of Nha Trang. We managed to see everything the 'tour' would have shown us plus quite a bit more for about one third of the cost so we are all pleased with ourselves! We started out at the cham towers, built not surprisingly by the Cham people many centuries ago. We had fun today each reading bits from our own travel guides - we managed to put together quite a bit of information and e...

We got the sleeper bus from Hoi An to Nha Trang on Tuesday night and arrived around 6am on Wednesday morning. The bus itself was newer than the last one we got so it was a bit more comfortable this time. We found a guesthouse quick enough and ended up sleeping for most of the day just like we did last time. When we did eventually get out of bed we went to the bus company offices to book our next bus to Ho Chi Minh City(Saigon). With that sorted ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam alandrach... in Nha Trang early in the morning and the 200km south that we had travelled had made a big difference to the weather. Despite the early hour it was already hot and we knew that today was going to be a scorcher so we quickly checked into a hotel and with hurried insistence from the girls we made our way straight to the beach. The beach at Nha Trang is lovely, with a wide stretch of yellow sand that curves away in each direction, but there is again ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam jamesburford... though. Got up at about 7.30 for brekki and Shona cut her hand on a bread knife which wasn't good. The guy from the hotel filled it with loose tobacco to stem the bleeding for a bit (strange but it actually worked!). Then most of us (less 4) headed off to the party boat! The sky was muggy and overcast and I was glad I had my long trousers on. Boat full of people and a couple of kids. First island was the aqarium. It was ok but the cheesy photo ...
