A beautifully furnished and finished hotel with attentive and non-intrusive staff. Great facilities, has the feel of a boutique hotel, within walking distance to the Dubai Mall.

Leaving home for 12 months isn't easy at the most basic of times. We'd been through the experience of putting our lives in boxes and leaning on parents for housing and storage until we leave the country. So, because i'd done quite a lot of sight seeing the past few days i thought i'd have a bit of a chill out day. After a few seconds, Noel realises we are going fairly quickly and looks up at the floor number display and notices that it is almost impossible to keep up with the counter ticking over. He blurts out "Jesus" which earns a not so pleased look from the lift man. We later time the trip from top to bottom and it takes 61 seconds to cover the 124 floors. That is seriously quick.

... the evening by my watch but was about 6.30am Melbourne time. I was just coming off East link and turn into Burwood Highway when I knew that dawn was hinting itself into the air. I wanted to try to calculate how long I had been awake but found myself so befuddled that it could not hold numbers. At least I knew the direction home. About twenty minutes later we pulled in to the driveway in the gloom and I could immediately see that the pruning and thinning I had requested ...

... next morning we had a wonderful hotel breakfast and met the Trailfinders rep to discuss what could easily be done in the 24 hours that we were in Dubai. We decided to do a bus tour of the city and caught the brown and red buses that circle the city. There was a choice of visiting the old city or the new city and surprisingly for us we chose the new city. This meant that we had to get to the largest shopping centre in the ...
