A beautifully furnished and finished hotel with attentive and non-intrusive staff. Great facilities, has the feel of a boutique hotel, within walking distance to the Dubai Mall.

Leaving home for 12 months isn't easy at the most basic of times. We'd been through the experience of putting our lives in boxes and leaning on parents for housing and storage until we leave the country. ... around 15 to 20 buses full of immigrant construction workers. Roughly with 30 to 45 immigrants in each one, returning wherever they call home after a hard days work. Hell!!! Some may even be going out to work for a second time that day! In my tired state, I felt a little emotional. You have to question at who's expense is all this glitz and glam for, it's surely not the migrant workers that's for sure. To me, Dubai ...

Jules and I are sending our love from Egypt and hope everyone had a great Easter backed up by Anzac Day long weekend! We arrived in Dubai on Easter Saturday after a hassle free flight with Emirates- a welcome change from AirAsia and Jetstar! In Dubai we had arranged to stay at an AirBnb villa with a UK expat who has lived in Dubai for over 20 years. Her villa was wonderful, and located in Jumeirah 2 for those who have been to Dubai- within walking distance to the beach. It is difficult ...

Couldn't sleep last night, brain wouldn't switch off, can't work out if I'm really excited about going to Dubai or going home, or I'm nervous? I don't know! So I went and got breakfast, it was ok.. Then I chilled out before having to pack my bag and leave!got the transfer to the airport and checked in straight away then found a 7/11 and brought some ...
