A beautifully furnished and finished hotel with attentive and non-intrusive staff. Great facilities, has the feel of a boutique hotel, within walking distance to the Dubai Mall.

... level of ostentatiousness that many Dubai restaurants have. We had a perfect spot of the aquarium and we enjoyed some cocktails with our meal. We opted for 1 starter each and then the hot sharing platter which had a wide range of grilled seafood and vegetables. All up the meal came to AED1,600. ... on a local bus for 45mins which dropped us near the hotel and walk back to our hotel, checked our emails only to find that we weren't being dropped at a specific point but rather a point along a 14km stretch of beach! Chris' friend clearly didn't realise this either until he was about to leave and sent us some messages after we had left. As we don't exactly travel in style, we had no phone. Hmmmm. We eventually met up with him after lunch and headed to a beach party which to be ...

... it a look like we partied hard, but a couple of soda waters and one cocktail was as much as I had. However, it was brilliant seeing Joanna after so much time...and just means I will need to go back for a proper dinner and cocktail evening!! Oh the hardlife....

By the next day, feeling much better so I headed to the pool for a couple of hours and then got myself packed up. Going to ...

... in the wrong place-: that will teach us to do better research before we go out. We ended up at the Emerati mall where the skiing happens - all quite bizarre when it is 42degrees outside. This evening we had a dinner cruise on the Dubai creek - seems like this is the thing to do as boats were going up & down the creek all evening. By the time we got home I was exhausted. Geoff did remind me it was 4.00 in the morning at home so I guess we did well to last that long. ...
