Had breakfast at Hotel then went up to see Linda and say goodbye to Wolfgang. Jan then drove us into Saarbrucken for the day as he had to spend time with Linda making arrangements for the funeral. Walked around the lovely St Johann Market Place with pretty shops and restaurants and down along the river bank. Jan picked us up and back to our hotel. Later we went out to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner. Had an early night to bed as we were still ...
Started our trek back to where we started late morning, the Don pinched a bike from the hire place before they opened to go up to the store for some breakfast supplies. A pleasant day spent on board cruising but it was a long one being eight hours on the water. We all assumed a role as the 17 locks become same same, this is not to say that we were uninterested but a hard boat to paddle with ...

From Saarbrucken tomorrow we are going to Wurzburg, to begin our journey down the Romantic Road in Bavaria. Bye for ...
We got to our next lock at 8.50 and found no lights on the lock at all. We went back and tried zapping the sensor but nothing happened. Checked the opening times and they were supposed to be 8.30 now we are back in France (technically Germany was on our left and France on our right, and the locks are now under French control). We waited until after 9 just in case but still nothing and nowhere to tie up! A man shouted to us “no power” so we ...
