So, after all the waiting we did, we are actually in Germany! The plane wasn't very comfortable, and a couple of us were forced into seats that didn't recline (making sleeping hard, painful work) but we didn't crash and burn, so thats a plus! But anyway, we're in Germany now! A new country and continent! This is really cool for those of us who have never been out of the country before! Well, I guess that's all that has happened so far. Yes! So magically, the flight managed to squeeze in over THIRTY extra people including us! It was supposed to leave at 2am, but it left around 4. There were even empty seats so that we could move and lay down/stretch out! Very nice.

Then we opened up the Sekt (German champagne) and the Bitburger and had a party. Werner started his new super grill and we had ...

Time to check my gear for the Iceland-Trip this summer. Because all of it is either brand new (like the trekking poles), or I haven't use it for years (the hiking boots). And I borrowed an Olympus OM-D E-10 camera. I really would love to buy I new camera, my old Canon EOS D400 just seems a little bit old and I think the OM-D E-10 is a really good travel camera. It was the first time I played ...

    First day in Saarbrüken, Germany

... almost all day long and when class got out that is the first place she took us. Her and I both got a cider at this authentic Irish pub (yes, in Germany. Apparently the Ireland Prime Minister was there a few weeks ago-seems legit enough for me). After beer #1 we were already pretty drunk but we went to another bar for more beer. Met/had lunch with the dean. First class-weird culture simulation/ice breaker. Everyone was so nice and lots of nice looking German boys. Jana took ...
