... this festival. A one day ticket cost $250 AUS or about $200 US. A 5 day pass is about a $1000 AUS. The Black Keys had to pull out because of a shoulder injury the drummer has. ... so it was a quick turnaround to be back out the door by 6pm. The walk was very difficult - there were thousands of steps - but the views made up for it. Byron Bay is beautiful even if the Inbetweeners movie spoiled some of the allure. We finally got on the road at 10.30pm and remembered we had nowhere to sleep that night - oops! We were in fact more worried that it was now dark and the roo's would be lining the edge of the highways ready to jump out into the headlights!

6th - 19th Dec NSW coast
Byron Bay - known as a mecca for backpackers, and the week we were there was also “schoolies week” ie the week all the year 11s finish their final year exams and PARTY. The place was therefore packed full of trendy young things, all looking a bit groovy grungy, all seriously beaching, posing, posturing, drinking, admiring, smoking, talking animatedly, high fiving and generally eyeing each other up. By then the evening was drawing in so we decided to call it quits, grab a pizza and skype home before exploiting the TV one last time and head to bed.
