    ... eventually stop around 8pm for a break, everyone had to get off. A fair amount of people tell the driver when leaving the bus and we all get a quick bite to eat. I tried a deep fried pineapple fritter and it was grand. Turns out the guy in front of Mr Saliva is a Welsh guy who used to work on the Boomerang Whitsunday boat, so he knows all the crew and how crazy they are.     ... it was too heavy. We took off and it was just such a strange feeling, I kept thinking that really by now I should be freaking out but I wasn't. I guess the fact that the guys were just sat having general conversations about their weekends and holidays etc put me at ease. I think, hearing someone have an every day conversation makes you kind of think, well this is just a bit normal. The view was amazing. Apparently the journey from take off to 14000ft is 20 minutes. ...

    19th March - We arrive in Byron Bay at 9pm and it is like being back in Fiji! Very hot and humid even at this time of night. We thought it would be fine once we got to our air condition room but no, five person dorm with a small fan that blew air no further than one metre. There was a nice pool within the hostel so we sat with our feet dipped in to cool down. After a quick call to Granny Smith to wish her happy birthday it was off to bed for another hot nights ...
