So, Bryon Bay. This is the land of dreadlocks, surfing and weed it may seem. If you are a bloke with a beard and/or hair longer than your shoulders and/or a manbun and/or you like to walk around with no shoes on... Byrons the place for you. It's relaxed vibe and gorgeous beaches meant that we definitely had a rest after Sydney's chaos. We found a few nice restaurants/bars that we enjoyed happy hour at, and met a couple of Ozzies who enlightened us ...

After a million safety briefings we left the hostel and drove to Fraser. First stop: Lake Mckenzie, a fresh water lake which was crystal clear and warm just like a bath. The next day I phoned the rental company who were pretty good and told us to take it to their approved garage and get a taxi back to town which they would pay for so that what we done. Next we went to check out Cape Byron lighthouse ...

... going to send one out from Sydney until we pointed out that Brisbane was far closer). So we travelled to a place called Ballina to meet them part way, stayed overnight and are expecting the new van some time this morning. Here's hoping. Spike stayed in Nanny's bag today as It was shady and the van was very, very hot. When he did pop his head out he saw a big prawn who frightened him, 'Nanny's bag is so cosy', he ...

... put the van on site before taking the car to a Holden repair shop. We have had to hire a car as we don't know how long it is going to take to get our's back. On top of all that, our fridge has stopped working, so as you can imagine it's not a good time. Before all this happened, we had a week in Pottsville, which was a lovely little town. I must admit it was so nice to be surrounded by bushland instead of high rises all ...
