Last day in London europe tour starts tomorrow.
Yesterday we were up earlier than usual (8:00 a.m] to get to the Tower of London, before the matinee showing of Billy Elliott. The tube rail system had still not caught up with the water damage, from the day before so we caught a bus to Oxford Circus, then a train to Tower Hill. On arrival we decided to join a tour by Yeoman Warders [Beefeaters] …
First day in London
We made it to London. Crazy plane ride--British Airways served us a whole dinner of chicken curry, salad, bread, dessert at 11:30 pm. Then they woke us at 3:30 am to serve breakfast. Maybe a little thorough.
Beautiful hotel. Ray got a great picture outside of our enormous balcony which we were standing on when the four fighter planes flew …
Back to London
Today was mainly a travel day from Paris back to London. The tour director had us guess how many kilometers we had traveled on the trip and then told us it was almost 6,000 kilometers, which is just over 3,700 miles. We did stop to see a recently dedicated new cemetery in Fromelles, France of mainly Australian soldiers from World War I who were …
London Sightseeing
We spent our last full day in London sightseeing using the Hop On - Hop Off bus tours of London. We got on the bus at Victoria Station and made our first stop of the day at the Tower of London. The Tower was a fortified Palace, but now it is most known for housing the Crown Jewels. We then took a cruise on the Thames River and had the funniest …
That was easy...hello from London
Hi to all....We are safe and sound in London, well ensconced in the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel.
Our flight via Thomas Cook Airlines was uneventful and went quite quickly actually. One minute we were waiting for the shuttle at the Delta Airport Hotel in Richmond and the next minute we were coming out of Victoria Train Station to walk up …

Very pleased!
We had an outstanding three-night stay in December 2003. The rooms are very 4-star and the beds are extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are also very upscale. For London the value is outstanding and the hotel really verges on 5-star status. Also, the location next to Victoria Station is extremely convenient, especially if you are flying into Gatwick. If you are arriving on an overnight flight from the US and your room isn't ready their health club is available to shower and freshen up which makes all the difference in the world in getting the most out of your first day in town! The staff is also very helpful. I would give the Victoria Park Plaza an unqualified recommendation.
Great Experience
Stayed here for five nights in November 2003. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a good hotel at a very reasonable rate. The room was modern and very clean. Only king sized be that we encountered in Europe. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location was only a two minute walk from Victoria Station making it convenient arriving via train from Gatwick airport. Would highly recommend the Victoria Park Plaza.
Very nice upscale hotel perfectly located
Was at this hotel for a part of my vacation november 18-21,2003. Was very pleasantly suprised to see that the hotel conformed exactly to the pictures of rooms that i found on the Internet. Upscale hotel definately fairly represented as a 4star hotel. Staff was pleasant, room was a good size and was VERY CLEAN! the best part of the hotel for us was its unbelievable closeness to the Victoria station which is a major tube station. The hotel was very reasonably priced given the location and the facility. I would definately stay here again!
Brilliant
Really loved the hotel! The staff were fantastic and the room were clean and spacious. GREAT BATHROOMS !
Fantastic
We couldn't have found a better place to stay for our first trip to London. The location is fantastic - only a couple of minutes walk to the Victoria Station. Plenty of pubs and cafes are nearby as well.
The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the hotel is fairly new.
All things considered it was great value and great location. Would definitely stay here again.
Fun Hotel
A really lovely hotel, very trendy, and the staff were great, friendly and helpfull. The bedrooms were very comfortable with great bathrooms!Food in restuarant was of a very high standard
One of the better cheap hotels
This is one of the better discount hotels in London, clean, easy access to transportation.
Great hotel and location!
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in early Oct and had a great experience with them. Upon arrival we were upgraded (no explanation given) to an "executive" suite that also included full breakfast in a private lounge on the 2nd floor! We booked through **** and our rate had not included breakfast so this was a pleasant surprise!Very helpful and courteous staff and concierge was terrific in getting us great seats for the theater at the last minute.Location is excellent...1/2 mi or so walk to Buckingham Palace and 2-3 block walk to Victoria Station for tube access and Gatwick Express!
Victoria Park Plaza---Outstanding!
My husband and I stayed here July 2003--we booked from the internet and were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. Beginning with the smiling faces at the front desk, to the clean and tastefully decorated room, the sparkling bathroom, air-conditioning that worked, and decent food from room-service...we were impressed and will definitely return!
