    Well - after a rather tedious journey out of Birmingham we finally reached Nottingham to be reunited with my sis and her husband ( Nico and Simon).     ... of our trip before catching the ferry back to England tonight, we'd got a week back in England before setting off to France and the start of the Spring/Summer leg. The ferry left from Rotterdam, so we got up and drove there and had a bit of a look around before catching the ferry.     I stopped in Derby on the way home from my holiday in Normandy after a flight from Dinard Brittany to East Midlands via Ryanair.     ... years. It's amazing wandering around these worn old stone floors & looking at 600 yr old tapestries on the walls. We saw the old kitchens - which had several massive fireplaces, & a bakery & a butchery. There was an ancient stone chapel, walls had all been painted in the 15th century - it was faded but mostly visible still. Apparently several versions of Jane Eyre have been filmed ...
