How strong is Epoxy?

I dropped the Buell just a few miles after leaving our hotel and broke the clutch lever.  The bike was terrible unbalanced.  It was Sunday so nothing was open to get parts.  We applied epoxy and took a hotel room to wait for it to dry... More pics and details to be updated soon!

Almost in Texas

... heat never relented. Arrived in Tampico and learned that a campsite was 20 USD and a shower was 10 USD. If you could sleep in the shower it would be cheaper. The heat continued with ongoing threats of thunderstorms but nada. Reached Ciudad Victoria easily and sure enough it really unleashed a thunderstorm. Sophie could not find a hole deep enough to sleep in. Lasted all night and produced the first clear and pleasant day in a couple weeks. We decided to take advantage of the good ...

Heading for the Border

... weather was absolutely beauitful, the temperature after dark was 85 degrees, the air was dry, and the wind was slightly blowing. We decided it was perfect and we would just sit there and enjoy it rather than get ready to cross the border the next day. So we spent the next day getting the camper ready and stayed another night.

Ciudad Victoria RV park - Rosie's place

Planned to stay overnight but this place was lovely and we stayed two days. It was very quiet when we arrived and we met some interesting people and were able to let the dogs run loose. The landscaping and plants and trees were gorgeous. We managed to figure out the traffic and city layout eventually and left ...

Off we go into Mexico

Our Mexican Odyssey 2008 The border crossing on Friday, January 4th, was pretty simple and didn't take too long, although it looked like a line was forming after us, so we were glad we got there as soon as it opened at 9:00am. We had secured everything as well, or better, than usual, however, that really proved to be not enough ...

Then we had to get gas ,Waited untill we got to Mexico as it is only 1.96 a gallon and diesel is cheaper. I wonder what is up with the high prices in the US. Then headed south, and ran into a head wind so it made for a long drive. But the good thing is we made it. Will post some pics latter on tonight after dinner. Bonnie and Bill

Cuidad Vitoria

This morning we found we had an uninvited visitor and so spent a couple of hours checking to see if we could find the mouse. Hopefully it has gone but we have a couple of sticky traps if he is still here. After we did that we set of for the town of Cuidad Vitoria. This involved a very pleasant trip through the mountains; the scenery was quite spectacular at times and the road rising to an altitude of 2,300 metres. On arrival at the ...

Under the Spell - Time warp Catorce and way beyond

... some rest for our big excursion into the desert the next day. We awoke to a blaring and loud sound-check outside our room and knew something was wrong. Peeking outside our hotel door we discovered that our tranquil oasis was being transformed into an arena of fun. Tables, chairs, umbrellas, balloons, massive sound equipment and instruments were being set up for a big celebration. That's when we realized that it was Sunday, "Lucky Sunday ...

On the Road Again: Creel to Estacion de Catorce

... so we trusted fate in this alternate course that we had never heard about before. Hours later, after a terrible stinky bus ride, we arrived in a quiet, dusty, high-desert village which was not on our map and which most people cruise right through. When we asked the locals where Real was they pointed up to the mountains and said the path was "far, steep, tiring, hot, and expensive." Our Japanese Gollum freaked when he heard the news and immediately jumped on ...
