Just finished posting my impromptu trip to Nasau and Exuma, Bahamas experiencing the real Bahamas.
I am patiently waiting for my passport to be returned to me by Fedex. My passport is in the Italian Consulate in Miami for my Schengen Visa.
Funny, coz, I already have everything arranged, trip ticket and reservation to hostels, except for the Schengen Visa.
I am hoping I will be given a visa and that it will come to me in time for my trip scheduled in November 2-15.
The longest wait.....
I made a reservation by phone for Westernair.... at the airport, my reservation bacame nevermention...... no more seats available...
Made it to Bahamasair for the 8:15 pm flight and was delayed to 8:30 and then 9 ...
I just purchased online, a round trip ticket to Rome, Italy as a requirement in getting a SCHENGEN VISA. I will fly Continental Airlines.

... over to Port Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island where we will be headquartered for the late Fall 2009 and Winter of 2010.
Wahoo fishing is especially good from the Freeport / Lucaya / West End of Grand Bahama in the Fall and Winter. We have several guests coming over to fish but still have many days open so let us know your plans.

I already have booked a flight departing from Freeport to San Jose, Costa Rica via Miami. Mariselle is from there, need I say that she's Corta Rican? She's a nurse in the same hospital where I am working and is married to a colleague of mine. She invited me since she knew I wanted to go there.

Leaving Freeport on Tuesday was one big emotional day. I was so tired and exhausted from trying to get everything done before we left I didn't even have time to get excited about the trip.
If or rather when I take off on another long sabbatical, I would definitely leave work at least 3 weeks before. There just wasn’t enough time to do ...
... boats down into the turning basin and lined up for a choreographed departure. There are two or three bridges to confront before getting down there and few if any of the boats will not have to wait for an open. This took time. We in New Frontier (NF), were one of the first to arrive in the turning basin just after a large foreign flagged tanker was turned and docked with the aid of two muscular looking tug boats. The ...
The Atlantic, Florida, United States gknopp... is marked by a couple of poles that stick out of the water (20 feet high and 8 inches in diameter). After a 50 mile run, the poles come into view dead ahead. WOW ... the navigation is working great. We enter the Atlantic through a small opening in the coral and rock. Immediate we are in the midst of 6-8 foot seas. The waves are hitting us from all angles and there are occasional 10-12 foot waves to deal with. It is 20-30 miles ...
West End, Bahamas dragon762... tour guides this time were hundreds of birds and iguanas who had the run of the place. My words can't do it justice - we each had strong emotional reactions to the place. The rest of the Cozumel we saw was pretty much the tourist-saturated Mexico I think of, but the water and weather were gorgeous. That night found me back on the boat with about 10 other women drinking too much, dancing into the wee hours of the morning, and at some point there was ...
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, United States rem... little store reminiscent of some looted supermarket in a film when apolocalypse is either nigh or at present. Here prices were not so competitive as we had hoped either. The drive back showed us the only real glimpse of life on the island; of run-down houses with trucks on bricks in the front yard, of freemasons' lodges, of palm forests, but we had the sense that the islanders' lives were based entirely on the tourism and that employment ...
