... were able to buy a train ticket for today's journey to Vilnius, and then found a great market. It had loads of flowers, mostly colourful displays and arrangements, but also a whole aisle of white flowers only, (for funerals?) (sorry, no photos). Also a big section of clothing and shoes, lots of fruit & veg, cheese, meat, fish, etc. So, very different from what the museum might have been like, but we were glad to see it.

... right then my plans were foiled. I had wanted to hire a bike so I could not only see the town and castles, but also the wider landscape around the lakes. Unfortunately the bike rental place was closed on Mondays. Wasn't happy about that. I walked to the tourist info centre and the woman there said it was the only place in town to hire bikes. Grrrr.
