Back to civilisation where things are clean, efficient and orderly!
First task was to go to the SimLim shopping centre so that we could sort out our technology needs (yep, always the geek!). Alan decided that he wanted to buy a laptop, and my old but small laptop (vintage 2002!) that I've been lugging around finally bit the dust, and I decided to invest in a small netbook for travelling. Aside from giving me access to the internet for email and travel research, I also need some way of...

... alone! The kids and I had fun playing trivia, online games, and enjoying the entertainment channels on our personal screens.
[3] The Seoul Airport is amazing
The airport seems brand new and is super clean with free wi-fi. While we didn’t change planes, we all had to get off with all our stuff and get back on going through security again. Nice airport and the people were very nice to us.

Chicken Rice: Another Singapore signature dish. We went to Maxwell Street Hawker center to try one of the highest rated versions of this dish. It is two entities in one. First, rice, cooked in a garlic and chicken based broth, and second, a boiled chicken that is flash-cooled once done cooking. Combined you have chicken rice. I’m not a huge ...
... it to the field!
That made for a slow Sunday but eventually we got there! I had never seen rugby live and I love firsts so I was kinda excited. Apparently, it wasn't a usual match up as there were several teams playing for I think 7 minutes at a time. It was more of a drink fest (which I hear is the same in Hong Kong) and not many people seemed to really watch the sport. I can't imagine how you'd keep ...
... A nice chap called Erik I think it was helped us through the menu and we escaped with a tasty meal and no nightmares.
Also visited a few museums, the best of which was the Chinese heritage museum as it told the stories of people leaving China to come to Singapore. Families of 8 living in tiny units we wouldnt consider suitable for a single bed in the West. Also did a quick trip around the botanical gardens where I took a picture ...

To thank us for the arrangement, Daddy LO gave us a dinner treat at Thai Pan which is nearby at the Changi Civil Service Club. Mommy SN was still wondering and wondering what was going on! Haha...that was fun!
After dinner, all of us went back to the chalet for our durian session, we chatted till quite late!
Day 2: 22 August 2009 (Saturday)
The kids woke up early, as usual, and all of us were going to Changi ...
... ton of adorable gods all over the outside and had some great stuff to
check out inside. It was weird seeing an Indian temple again after
having seen so many Asian-themed temples for so long.
After walking around for a while we
decided to check out the Arab quarter on our way to China town..
there was a gorgeous mosque on North Bridge Road, called Sultan
Mosque, that we saw. The book made it sound like you could see all
kinds of Arab's dressed up ...
Singapore, Singapore freshie... feel it heating up - and headed down through the colonial district - lots of posh white buildings and exactly as I had imagined! We wandered over the river and entered the beautiful Chinatown district. We were in a sea of market stalls, beautiful buildings and temples and I cannot explain quite how excited I was too be in Asia! A huge attraction for me in Asia was the food and we eagerly picked up lunch in a hawker stall. People will ...
