... us and two Danish midwifery students also at the hospital out for Thai food. The flavours of the food were excellent; Tom Yam with an exquisite hit of lemongrass and ginger, fish with mango and, my personal favourite, pineapple rice. The coconut milk with rice flower dessert was, however, less appetising. It was interesting discussing the ins and outs of Malaysian culture compared to Western, both inside the hospital and in day-to-day ...

... seeing the longhouses and climbing up the tiny narrow little square stumps for steps (difficult in flip flops) and crossing a long V shaped bamboo pole bridge (even more difficult in flip flops!). They put on a cultural show twice daily so I joined a school party from Singapore to enjoy the show in a beautiful old building (with air con!). Each ethnic group danced and sang and all in all it was very professional, colourful and interesting too. They even had ...

... collected our certificates for climbing the mountain and completing the ferrata, definitely gonna get them framed! Then waited for the coach back, luckily we didn't have to wait that long and I spent the next 2 hours asleep on the journey back. We arrived back to the hotel absolutely drained and aching everywhere but we had done it! We met Ahmed, Sam and Katie at El Centro for some food and the pub quiz, although I wish I had just stayed at the hotel ...
