... didn't but that he knew the owner of this one place who he thought he could call and get me a discount to about 60 ringgits (about $20). I found the place on tripadvisor and it looked pretty decent - lots of good reviews, but it was so far from the city center that I didn't feel comfortable. The plan was to get up and catch the 8 am ferry to Brunei in the morning and I didn't want to have to pay for a taxi into the city on top of the cost of the ...

Definitely worth the experience, but not one I'm likely to repeat again too ...

... a day trip (95) so I asked around and found that I could take a local bus to the ferry for 60p, get the boat to the National Park for 4 and entry charge another 2. That seemed a better option to me! 11.20 return. The organised trips took the same boat but had their own transport instead of a bus and of course provided a guide. Luckily I met four lovely people on the bus there, Todd from America, Kevin from Paris, Lennie from Panang and Oat from Bangkok. ...

    28 APRIL

It’s now 1030; we are packed and Mr John is catching 40 winks.
I was up to see the last sunrise over Mount Kinabalu this morning; the least impressive of them all. It’s cloudy today; although still hot.
The first plane landed this morning at 0557 and the first plane out was at 0607.
Had a pair of tiny ...
