... cold and ice. That just doesn't sound appealing at all.

  • Norwegians are nice, but... not as nice as Americans. For example, when passing somebody random on the street, they will not make eye contact, much less say hello. Of course you get the rare exception, but for the most part, American just seem more friendly toward strangers.
  • Sweden and Norway are pretty much the same! Naturally, if you're a citizen of either ...

... to be home, though it felt like I had just left it hours ago. My trip to Sweden felt like nothing more than a passing dream. If I hadn't any pictures or souvenirs, I would be hard pressed to believe I actually went there! All in all though, I think Sweden has thus far been the highlight of my trip. It was good to get out of Norway for a while! And of course, it was good to see Jenni again. Hopefully she can come to visit me in Moss before I leave.

I walked over there expecting to find something really cool and of great interest. I was kinda disappointed. It was mostly residential. By hey, now I know. It was bothering me not knowing what was over there! ...

... as the lack of sunshine can may this place seem a bit dreary at time. In fact, that's my biggest complaint about this place. Not only are the days short, but it's generally cloudy all the time. It's only been clear two days since I arrived. I may have to start taking vitamin D to make up for the lack of sun!

... happy we came in. It turns out that the old town is still intact behind ramparts surrounding the town, with a real drawbridge and gated entrance, and 17th to 19th C buildings on cobbled streets. As we entered town, we noticed something was up, as there were barriers and vans with trailers entering… obviously a market of some kind happening. We found a lovely coffee shop which turned out to actually be the breakfast room in a guest house… and the coffee was complimentary. ...
